Astoria and Queens to Connecticut Movers

Updated November 6, 2026

Queens movers since 1999: family run, licensed and insured.

Queens sits close to Connecticut by map. A moving truck still has to cross the water and stay off the parkways. Astoria Queens Movers plans that trip every step of the way, from a walk-up in Ditmars to a house in Stamford, or the other way around.

We move you between Queens and Connecticut. We do not do moves that start and end inside Connecticut.

Which bridge the truck takes

Where you live in Queens decides the bridge.

  • From Astoria and Long Island City, the RFK Bridge is close. The truck crosses to the Bronx and joins I-95 north.
  • From Flushing, Whitestone and Bayside, the truck can use the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge (I-678) or the Throgs Neck Bridge (I-295). Both carry trucks and lead to I-95.
  • From Ridgewood, Jackson Heights or Woodside, the crew picks the bridge by traffic on the day.

The Grand Central Parkway is closed to trucks and commercial vehicles. So are the Hutchinson River Parkway in New York and the Merritt Parkway in Connecticut. Your moving truck will stay on I-95 or another truck route.

Common Connecticut stops from Queens

Most of our Queens moves go to Fairfield County and New Haven County. Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport, Milford and New Haven are all on I-95. Danbury and the towns near it are inland, so the route there is longer and different. Tell us the town early, and we will tell you how much of the day the drive takes.

Getting out of a Queens building

A lot of Astoria homes are walk-ups with tight stairs. Other buildings in Long Island City are high-rises with a freight elevator and a booking window. We ask about both before we send a truck. We provide COI if your building asks for one. Street parking for a truck is hard on many Queens blocks, so we plan where the truck will stand.

Your estimate and the 110 percent rule

This is an interstate move. Federal rules protect you. We are A & A Alliance Moving Inc, U.S. DOT No. 967970, MC-432549, and we are FMCSA-authorized to move household goods between states.

You get a written estimate. It can be binding, which means a set price for the items listed. Or it can be non-binding, which means it is our best guess. With a non-binding estimate, you do not have to pay more than 110 percent of it when we deliver. Any amount above that is billed later, under the federal rules.

We also give you the FMCSA booklet "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move." On moving day you sign a bill of lading. Check the dates and the address on it before you sign.

Common questions

How long does a Queens to Connecticut move take?

Most moves to Fairfield County are done in one day. Moves farther north or east may take longer. We give you a delivery date or window in writing.

Do you also move people from Connecticut back to Queens?

Yes. We load at your Connecticut home and bring everything to your new place in Queens, walk-up or elevator building.

Once I live in Connecticut, can you do my next move to a nearby Connecticut town?

We cannot. We only do moves where one end is in New York or New Jersey, because we do not hold a Connecticut in-state certificate.
